Learn a skill. Become an expert in your field.
I know it is not easy.
Yes.
But you have to find something to do to be better for yourself. You do know that you are wasting time by not doing anything?
Yes, I know getting a job is not easy. Believe me when I say so. There are a lot of requirements to meet and qualifications you have to pass to be a certified employee.
Also, there are a lot of free internship programs you can join that’ll teach you different skills to build yourself and your portfolio. You can also learn from YouTube and Google.
Here are a few jobs you can apply the skills you learn to and prevent you from being idle in no particular order.
1. Software Engineer:
A software engineer is someone whose job is to analyze and modify existing software as well as designing, construct, and test end-user applications that meet user needs — all through software programming languages.
In one word, you create and test applications that are user-friendly with the use of programming languages.
This requires a lot of skill, practice, dedication, and focus.
2. Graphic Designer:
Graphic Designers are people who create visual concepts and digital design contents using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.
They develop the overall layout and production design for applications such as advertisements, brochures, magazines, and reports.
They make designs that are appealing and captivating for consumers who require their services.
This can never go out of style, better to learn this today.
3. Artisan:
Artisans are people who have a particular talent or craft that could be explored in different ways.
Artisans are workers in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand. They are people who are very good at creating society and need valuables with their hands.
If you have a talent or a skill that you know would benefit you in so many ways, why don’t you hold on to it and make the best use of it?
4. Digital Writing:
Digital Writers are people who write, edit and publish content all across digital platforms.
Digital Writing comes in different forms and includes: Content Writing, Copywriting, Academic Writing, Creative Writing and Technical Writing.
As a digital writer, depending on your area you are to write, develop, edit, and publish content and copy for a variety of digital platforms, including websites, blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, infographics, whitepapers, and more.
So darling, hurry up.
Do not forget you need to learn adequate skills to fill this position.
5. Transcriptionist:
This might be new to you, and some people might be very familiar with this too.
A transcriptionist is someone who converts recorded audio files into text or document format.
It is basically the act of converting audio sounds, voice notes and voice overs into text or document. It is a very detailed job as you have to pay adequate attention to every single sound and voice you hear.
There are also skills you have to acquire to be a good and team worthy transcriptionist.

6. Social Media Manager:
A Social Media Manager is solely in charge of representing a company across social channels as the sole voice of the brand.
They respond to comments, compile campaigns and create content. Social Media Manager provides organizations with the guidance needed to enhance their online presence.
A Social Media Manager is someone who is outspoken, sees everything in a creative way and from a different angle. You have to be on Social Media all around the clock. You have a strong will to create content and you’re very good at it.
You also must be very conversant with what’s trendy and what’s happening on Social Media. A very detailed and up to date person.
It’s best to have this as a talent and then sharpen your skills!

7. Search Engine Evaluator:
A Search Engine Evaluator is basically an actual human who provides feedback and ratings about what comes up.
This feedback helps designers improve the quality of results to ensure users are being directed to what they want.
In layman terms, as a Search Engine Evaluator, you go through feedback and comments and thoughts of people on different prospects be it blogs, articles, design, craft or anything that requires feedback of a user and relay to the providers of those services on what to improve for a better result.
This is another job requirement that requires enough skill, patience and focus.
You don’t want to be doing it the wrong way!
8. UI/UX Designer:
Also known as UI/UX Design.
A UI/UX designer is someone who creates user-friendly interfaces that enable users to understand how to use complex technical products.
It is the design of user interfaces for machines and software, such as computers, home appliances, mobile devices, and other electronic devices, with the focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.
If you’re passionate about the latest technology trends and devices, you’ll find great fulfillment in being involved in the design process for the next hot gadget.

Also try to join communities and reach out to people in that field.
9. Social Media Influencer:
A social media influencer is someone who has established credibility in a specific industry and has access to a huge audience and can persuade others to act based on their recommendations.
You can become a Social Media Influencer so far you have good content and can persuade a large number of people. You also need to have a good Social Media presence.
If you have a large number of followers and likes on your social media platform, then you can use that to your advantage.
This does not require much skills, except you have good content and be very persuasive. You have to be genuine too.
10. Digital Marketing and Content Creation:
A Digital Marketer is someone who uses digital channels to reach customers, build brand awareness, and promote products and services.
And due to the unique combination of planning, creativity, and strategy their role requires, a digital Marketer is very versatile.
As a Digital Marketer, you always work around the clock, promoting products and services of your clients using digital form and you have to have some basic skills to be able to put that in effect.
A Content Creator is one who creates entertaining or educational material to be expressed through any medium or channel.
Content creation most especially pertains to digital content, because that’s where the majority of content is consumed.
(It is a very good way to earn too, if you’re looking to earn revenue through your efforts).
Content Creators are very good with editing since most of their contents come in video forms, so you have to be trendy, learn new skills to be able to put that in play.
11. Online Vendor:
An Online Vendor also known as a supplier is an individual or company that sells goods or services to someone else in the economic production chain.
An Online Vendor often has an Online store where they display the goods they have and try to connect with potential customers.
An Online Vendor needs to have good communication skills and very good marketing etiquette. He/she also needs to be able to establish good relationships with the customer and be customer friendly.
I already mentioned that for you to be able to fill positions for these jobs, you need to be up to date, build your portfolio, your CV, cover letter and have very good skills to speak for you!
Also try to join communities that’ll help you grow and have mentors. Move with people who have knowledge in the particular field you have chosen for yourself.
Then, you can start applying for Jobs!
That way you don’t have to waste your time waiting for school to resume when it is not in sight. If eventually schools open again, you have a plus one and a sustainable income.
And guess what, majority of these jobs are Remote Jobs. I believe this is a win-win situation. I really hope this article helps.
